F/W16 THE COMMUTE
INSPIRED BY MY MORNING COMMUTE, THIS F/W 2016 COLLECTION IS ABOUT TRAVELING AS A COMMUTER AND THE COMMUTE.
With unisex inspired silhouettes, this collection incorporates hints of feminine details and utiliarian functions for everyday wear. Because public transportation is a shared space, The COMMUTE sets out to resolve notions of privacy and personal space by keeping the wearer's belongings safe and hidden through the use of pocketing and layering.
This Stop is: The Lookbook
The Commute was born from the idea of existing in shared spaces such as public transportation. Taking inspiration from my own travels to and from school and work, I used the NYC MTA as a common motif throughout the collection. For The COMMUTE lookbook, I’ve utilized the overhead electronic route map found on most newer trains as a layout for the five looks. Looks appear in both close up details, far full body, standing, walking and sitting poses to emulate what one would see during their commute; across the platform or whilst on the train pulling into a stop.

I began my exploration by observing what my fellow passengers carried in the subway and on the train. By my observations and delving into details on Sketchbook from different points of view.
